....Coming the full circle
I just spent the last 2 weeks courting a new client for my fledging consulting practice. The potential client as it turns out is a prior employer. One who I left many years ago when I failed to see eye to eye with my then superior.
The strange twist is that the reason they are even contemplating employing my services is because everyone with the skills that I learned while employed by them over a decade ago, has left the company, and along with them the very skills that they need today. I think back upon the fateful day when I decided that the company and I needed to part ways so I could pursue other interests and not let my talents and creativity get stifled by a corporation that had grown so large that they were choking the very talents that made them great in the first place.
It ironic that they are faced with the very problems that I could see coming that caused me to leave in the first place, and now I am being called back in to figure out how to fix it.
